Ethiopia

The first week of March meant visa renewal time for us. Thus, we got to travel to Ethiopia to get the job done. A whirlwind 3 days later we were back in Nairobi, safely home, with our visas successfully renewed. It was a good thing we flew instead of taking the bus (yes, it’s possible), because we found out that it’s an exhausting 4 days and nights on the bus from Addis to Nairobi . . . I don’t feel legit enough to even want to attempt that. Anyways, while the trip was so fast, it was really neat to get to experience another culture—especially since we got to experience it with our good friends, Tyler and Lydia, who also needed visas renewed. Life there seems even very different from Kenya—even with little things like traffic. It is much more . . . how shall I say it . . . organized/less crazy. We got to visit an old rock-hewn church, we got our fill of the delicious Ethiopian cuisine and coffee, and we visited the largest market in Africa. It was a delight to experience a new culture, fellowship with some missionaries there, and a relief to get our visas renewed, but Karis and I both agreed that we were happy to come home to Nairobi.
